Deontay Wilder has branded Eddie Hearn SALTY over claims that he wouldn’t win a single round against Oleksandr Usyk.
Wilder is getting back into the ring next month, having spent some time away from boxing following his defeat to Tyson Fury at the tail end of their trilogy.
The American is hoping to have another shot at winning a world title before he hangs up his gloves, which could put him on a collision course with Oleksandr Usyk.
Wilder would undoubtedly back himself to get a knockout win, but Eddie Hearn is insistent he wouldn’t win a round. Wilder’s response? Hearn’s just being salty…
Deontay Wilder on Eddie Hearn saying he wouldn’t win a round vs Oleksandr Usyk: “Everybody has their own opinion, I can’t take his opinion away. Maybe he’s feeling a little salty because his fighter got beat, who knows?”

There’s likely an element of that. Hearn has seen Anthony Joshua’s stock fall with two consecutive defeats to Usyk, it’s a touchy subject from his perspective.
The truth is, though, that Wilder probably wouldn’t win a round against Usyk, but that’s not to say that he stands no chance of winning the fight.
Wilder has extraordinary power in that right hand of his. We’ve see it time and time again in his career, even when he’s down on the cards, it only takes one punch…
