West Ham fan hospitalised after attack by Eintracht Frankfurt ultras

A West Ham fan required medical attention after a premeditated attack from Eintracht Frankfurt supporters in Germany, reports the Daily Mail.

Hammers supporters are out in Germany at current as they prepare to cheer their side on against Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie tonight.

David Moyes’ men trail 2-1 from the home leg but will take confidence in how they performed away in Lyon in the last round of the competition. They’re right in the tie.

Unfortunately for one supporter who made the trip to support his side, some rather disgraceful behaviour from Eintracht Frankfurt ‘ultras’ left him in need of medical attention.

The Daily Mail report that between 15-20 supporters of the Bundesliga club launched a planned attack on West Ham fans in the city, with one man suffering a broken nose and teeth.

This kind of thing happens all too often on European away days. The victim will be sore, but as we’ve seen before, he was lucky to escape without further, life-changing injuries…
