Today marks the anniversary of one of the most beautiful goals scored in Champions League history.
On this day in 2002 Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen traveled to Hampden Park to battle it out for the title of UEFA Champions League winners.
Real would go on to win but not before Zinedine Zidane scored arguably one of the best Champions League final goals in history after he slotted home his now legendary left-footed volley into the roof of the Leverkusen net in the 45th minute.
Real went on to win the game 2-1 thanks to a man of the match performance by Zidane and an earlier goal scored by Raul in the 8th minute.
