Wales international Connor Roberts has scored a 95th minute goal against Turkey to all but secure his country’s progression to the Euro 2020 knockout stages.
Robert Page’s men, having drawn 1-1 with Switzerland in the opening group game, knew that they would be near enough through to the next stage of the competition if they were to win tonight.
Aaron Ramsey’s first-half goal set them on their way, but after Gareth Bale missed a second-half penalty, you wondered if there was going to be heartbreak for Wales in Baku.

Wales defended with their lives, and it paid off. Not only did they keep a clean sheet, but Swansea City’s Connor Roberts struck in the fifth minute of injury time to send the country into pandemonium.
Gareth Bale, clearly having no intention to keep the ball safely by the corner flag, drove into the Turkey penalty area, before laying the ball off into the path of Roberts, who did the rest.
What a moment for Wales – and what an achievement!
