Raheem Sterling won a penalty for his side in the first half of Manchester City vs Fulham at the Etihad. He brilliantly slotted the first Man City goal in the game into the back of the net.
This wasn’t enough to escape criticism for how soft he went down on the penalty. What do you make of this? Should it have been a penalty or not?
Michael Owen doesn’t seem to think so as he admits he was a player once and had done it before but it needs to stop being so widely accepted.
I wonder what the ‘he was touched so it has to be a pen’ brigade think of that one on Sterling. Absolutely no chance that there was enough force to bring him down. I’ve been there and done the same but I still feel we need to stop giving pens for things like that.
