Meet three brothers, Stephen, Kieran, and Shane Bennett. Three smalltown boys from Waterford with very big dreams.
All three have played on the same county minor team, county U-21 team – and Stephen and Shane are preparing for Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final against Kilkenny.
Ahead of the match the hurlers were interviewed at their GAA club in Ballysaggart (a population of just 250) in West Waterford, along with some other members of the club.
Shane (18) and Stephen (19) have made big waves with the senior squad, despite their age. Both will be hoping to help the Déise into an All-Ireland final this weekend!
Shane showed his dedication to his county earlier this summer, as he ran straight from a Leaving Cert exam to Páirc Uí Rinn, where he scored 1-4 in the Munster U-21 quarter final, picking up the man of the match trophy along the way.
Best of luck tomorrow lads!
Sports reporters Shaun Cronin and Peter McNamara break down the weekend’s GAA action.
