Spain has been hit by Storm Filomena which covered the country in snow and set records for the amount of snowfall inside the Spanish Capital of Madrid.
Atletico Madrid were trying their best to get to the Wanda Metropolitano to prepare for this weeks game against Sevilla today but the huge amount of snowfall and Friday and Saturday made that increasingly difficult.
Atletico’s answer was to send 4×4 vehicles out to collect all necessary players and members of staff to safely transport them onto Atletico Madrid grounds to finish match preparations.
This is all perfect except there was one player who turned down the option of being collected in a 4×4 for training, Belgian star Yannick Carrasco decided to borrow his neighbour’s 1980s Fiat Panda.
😳 👉 Simeone y la mayoría de jugadores han ido en los 4×4 habilitados por el @Atleti salvo…

When Yannick was asked why he chose to borrow his neighbour’s old car over a 4×4 his answer was
“It goes very well in the snow”
Carrasco didn’t just drive himself to training as he even did the club a favour by collecting fellow stars Thomas Lemar and Vrsaljko. There’s a reason the trusty car is still in such good shape.
