Tyson Fury’s uncle Peter Fury has given a scathing assessment on his corner during his fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

‘The Gypsy King’ failed in his bid to become the undisputed heavyweight champion losing a split-decision to the Ukrainian.

Fury’s corner that consisted of his father John Fury, SugarHill Steward and Andy Lee was slammed by fans after the fight and Peter Fury believes it ‘lacked professionalism’.

Speaking on Carl Froch’s YouTube channel he said: “Whether it was emotions in there, everybody was speaking.

“I’ll tell you what it looked like to me, it looked like it was all mates and they were just trying to gee him on or something, I don’t know.

“There didn’t seem to be any, there was no professionalism in that corner as far as one clear voice stating what he needed to do.”

“You’re not going to listen if four people are – if you’re tired and you’re coming into the latest stages of a fight and you’ve got a man in front of you, you’re trailing that fight and you know you’ve been hit badly, and you need to come back from that.

“You’ve got all that to deal with and you have got four people trying to talk to you, I’m afraid that’s not happening.

“There probably was one voice stating what he needed to do but all four of them or three or four of them were giving it at the same time, and all different instructions.

“It was at the same time and all the instructions were different which means its a scramble, isn’t it?”

Fury rematches Usyk on December 21st and his Uncle believes in the first fight that his tactics were all wrong but can defeat the Ukrainian.

He said: “I think he can you know, we’re looking at a big man, six foot eight, six foot nine, who wanted to have a tippy tappy boxing match with somebody who’s an elite mover and an elite boxer, so I think they got the strategies all wrong for that fight.”
