On a busy night of GAA appeals, Tiernan McCann’s proposed eight-week ban for discrediting the association has been overturned by the Central Hearings Committee (CHC) in the early hours of Thursday morning.
McCann was set to be banned for taking a dive when his hair was ruffled by Monaghan’s Darren Hughes but is now free to face Kerry in Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final.
McCann’s dive had provoked outrage but the proposed suspension from the CCCC was criticised for being ‘unlawful’ by Joe Brolly, a line the CHC appear to have agreed with.
There we go. McCann free to play Sunday. He should be home for 3.30am. Up for work about 7am. Great preparation for his biggest game ever ??

Tiernan McCann might get home about half 2 Thursday morning. Not ideal so close to an All-Ireland semi-final. Fairly messy for the fella
