It looked like Dublin were heading for another final today as they took on Mayo in the SFC semi-final, but after failing to register a score in the last 15 minutes, they were pegged back by a late Mayo resurgence which sets up a replay at Croke Park.
The referee, Dublin’s forceful approach to defending and Mayo’s frustrating attack were the big talking points of the game.
Here’s how Twitter reacted as Mayo and Dublin drew:
Mayo fans were certainly confident ahead of throw-in
Mayo to win... They'll target Dublins kickouts, key to beating them #GAA #DUBvMAY

Now just give me a Mayo victory over the Dubs and I'll be happy out! #GAA #MayoForSam

The anti-Dublin crowd were out in force as always
I feel like the #GAA would wet their pants if Dublin won an All-Ireland. Their biggest dream.

As an uninformed viewer I will support Mayo thinking big bad Dublin may have all the advantages due to being capital city #GAA

No way Mayo can be complaining about the ref today. At least two very soft frees to keep them in it. #sportslive #DUBvMAY #GAA

— Ray Noonan (@RayNoonan01) August 30, 2015
Should have been a red for Johnny Cooper
— Martin Fitzgerald (@MurtFitzgerald) August 30, 2015
Johnny Cooper should be sent off for that, ball was well gone, he simply went in to do damage- disgraceful #DUBvMAY #SundayGame
— Lauralee Walsh (@walshie101) August 30, 2015
Johnny Cooper did a Keano and the commentators barely reacted... ''ah, just a bit late'' #DubVmAY

As always the ref came in for some criticism for some controversial decisions

5 Points, 2 Goals. Huge ask now for #Mayo to come back from this. Thought save was crucial, sadly rebound counted. #DUBvMAY #SundayGame #GAA
