Colm O’Rourke had some strong words for Tyrone last night, but a lot of viewers felt the former Meath player wasn’t in any position to be taking the high moral ground.
O’Rourke laid into the Ulster county on The Sunday Game. He criticised Tiernan McCann in particular for his embarrassing dive, but also the rest of the team.

“This is dreadful stuff from Tiernan McCann. He should be ashamed of himself, ,” O’Rourke said.
“It’s beginning to follow them around like a bad smell now, this cynical play. Yesterday, they brought it to new lows.
“We have Conor Meyler being sent off for dragging a fella down, trying to get a person sent off. Then we have the Cavanagh show in terms of diving.”
Many would agree with a lot of O’Rourke’s sentiments, but hearing them said by a member of the infamously ruthless Meath team of ‘80’s and 90’s was hard to take for some.
Interesting quotes by Sunday Game's Colm O'Rourke from his Book ‘The Final Whistle’. Pot calling the kettle black :( pic.twitter.com/Oqr2Y8cPf6

@theplathdiaries I remember Colm O'Rourke saying (circa '87), "nice guys win nothing." Tyrone happier to win games than make friends
