Being a champion inter-county hurler isn’t all glamour, as this tweet from Richie Hogan shows in all its gruesome glory.

The Kilkenny man scored five points as his side overcame Waterford to book their place in the All-Ireland final next month.
But the performance comes at a cost, and in Hogan’s case the price seems to have been huge chunks of the skin on his feet.
The feet are on fire after that, but nothin that a few more weeks training can't cure! #blisters #battered pic.twitter.com/QqScEPraD5

He posted the picture hours after the victory, captioning it: “The feet are on fire after that, but nothing that a few more weeks training can’t cure!”.
Ouch, they look agonisingly painful.
We would barely attempt to walk if our feet looked like that, never mind talking about more training.
@richiehogan8 O holy lord lamb of Devine jaysus !!!! If that's what it takes to be an all star Richie, I'll stick to da junior B 😀

And that’s why Hogan has four All-Ireland medals, two All Stars and was Hurler of the Year in 2014.
At least Kilkenny fans appreciated his sacrifice.
@richiehogan8 Is there nothing the Kilkenny hurlers won't do for their county, hurling or fans. #AbsoluteLegends
