Tottenham are reportedly set to give Antonio Conte £50m to spend on two top transfer targets this month in a bid to secure Champions League qualification.
Conte has made steady progress since taking the Tottenham job towards the end of 2021. He has made no secret of his belief that Spurs are short of their competitors, yet they remain in a healthy position to break into the top four.
That is a testament to the Italian’s good work on the training ground. Conte is renowned as one of the best coaches in the business, but even he needs those above him to get their chequebooks out every now and then.
According to The Sun, Conte has asked and Daniel Levy is set to deliver, with Tottenham prepared to splash out £50m on the acquisitions of Adama Traore (Wolves) and Diego Carlos (Sevilla) this month.

Adama is thought to be on the market for the right price, while Newcastle’s negotiations with Sevilla over Diego Carlos have provided Spurs with the blueprint to prise him away from the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
If Tottenham were successful in getting both deals over the line, you would have to consider them the frontrunners to finish in the fourth spot, ahead of Manchester United, Arsenal, West Ham and Wolves.
