🚨 Tony Bellew gives brutally honest response on if Chris Eubank Jr will ever become world champion

Chris Eubank Jr returns to the ring tonight.

The 35 year-old takes on Poland’s Kamil Szeremeta on tonight’s huge card that is topped by the mouthwatering showdown between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev.

A win could put him inline for world title honours and even a showdown with Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez according to his current promoter Ben Shalom.

Tony Bellew was asked of the Brighton fighter’s chances of becoming a world champion and he gave a good assessment on the possibility.

Speaking to DAZN he said: “Listen, things can move around, and people can get their hands on world titles, but I don’t think he’ll ever beat a truly elite fighter.

“Depending on the weight and who becomes champion, there are ways he can become world champion. Of course that can happen, but I think he’s in trouble against the very best fighters out there and he doesn’t have the IQ required for the absolute best fighters.

“He’s improved a lot as a fighter and he’s always willing to bet on himself so it might still happen for him, but he’s 35 now and been a pro for a very long time. I think his moment to be a special fighter might’ve passed.”

What is more likely is a showdown with Conor Benn and ahead of the fight the rivals came together which ended with a shove from Benn.
