🚨 Tony Bellew fumes as Oleksandr Usyk set to be stripped of world title

Oleksandr Usyk will have to forfeit his IBF title shortly, losing his status as undisputed champion.

The Ukrainian defeated Tyson Fury to claim the only strap (WBC) that was missing from his collection of WBA, WBO and IBF titles.

Oleksandr Usyk is unlikely to fight again before his potential rematch with Tyson Fury, meaning he will have to vacate the IBF title, with Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubios likely fighting for it.

With Filip Hrgovic being the mandatory challenger, his next bout against Daniel Dubois in June could potentially become for the IBF title, with Anthony Joshua eyeing up the winner of that fight for a scrap later in the year.

But one man in particular is unhappy that Usyk will lose a belt and his undisputed status so quickly.

Taking to X formerly Twitter he wrote: This is the reason my great sport continues to shoot itself in the foot! Why does he need to vacate? He’s the best heavyweight in world and just showed it! Let him do the rematch or fight the best contender! SIMPLE REALLY! Infuriating the politics of the sport!’
