Tiernan McCann starts as Tyrone make one change to team for semi-final

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte clearly feels Tiernan McCann can shake off the controversy of recent weeks and perform – naming him in the starting team to face Kerry on Sunday.

There is just one change to Tyrone’s starting XV for the All-Ireland SFC semi-final, with Justin McMahon coming into the side at centre-back, in place of his brother Joe.

Kerry announced three changes to their starting team, with Kieran Donaghy back in at full-forward.

Tyrone team: Niall Morgan; Aidan McCrory, Ronan McNamee, Cathal McCarron; Ronan McNabb, Justin McMahon, Peter Harte; Colm Cavanagh, Mattie Donnelly; Tiernan McCann, Mark Bradley, Conor Meyler; Darren McCurry, Sean Cavanagh – capt, Connor McAliskey.

Subs: Michael O’Neill, Lee Brennan, Rory Brennan, Conor Clark, Richard Donnelly, Danny McBride, Conall McCann, Joe McMahon, Padraig McNulty, Ronan O’Neill, Barry Tierney.

Our panel Shaun Cronin and Peter McNamara of breakingnews.ie and Irish Examiner Sports Editor Tony Leen discuss the McCann issue.
