Armagh football legend Stevie McDonnell has stepped down from his role as manager of the county U21 side, it has been announced this morning.
The Killeavy clubman and former Footballer of the Year will not seek a third year in charge of the side according to a statement issued by Armagh County Board.
“Armagh County Board announce that Stevie McDonnell has tendered his resignation as U21 football manager. Stevie advised the county management committee that he wished to devote more time to club commitments.
Armagh County Board acknowledge the dedication and diligence of Stevie and his management and backroom team, thank them for their contribution to Armagh and wish them well in the future,” the statement read.
McDonnell is revered in the county for his playing exploits and will surely still be viewed as a viable managerial option should he decide to dip his toes back in the mix for future posts.
