On this week’s podcast I sit down and talk to former professional footballer Stan Collymore. Stan played professional football for the best part of 20 years and played for such big clubs like Liverpool, Aston Villa and Leicester City.
Stan also won three caps for England and since he retired he has had made a successful career in media.
Stan is now involved with Southend United in Essex and was one of the first footballers to come out publicly and speak about his battles with depression. He did it at a time when it wasn’t that common to do so.
Stan also talks to me about the current situation in the Premier League and these billionaire owners and how Liverpool will continue to compete when Jurgen Klopp finally walks away from Anfield.
Stan Collymore scored over a hundred goals as a professional footballer and played over 287 times as a pro. He will be remembered as an extremely talented footballer and the great work he continues to do for mental health.
We wish Stan the very best of luck with Southend United and whatever comes next in life.
This is well worth the listen.
