This is so disrespectful. I get it’s a rivalry, but why not respect All Blacks when they do their Haka?

You should know how much the world hates you; no respect for the haka, total arrogance from those worthless supporters.

Fvck South Africa. 🖕🤮

Y’all need to look into the DJ/music team. As a springbok supporter, that was seriously poor decorum to play our “anthem” during the Haka. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

I’m hope they won’t scare the hell out you with their Haka rituals! Yeah! They need to let their ancestors know that they are on a battle and need their support! Who doesn’t? I do💞. All the best Springboks. You can do it✊🏾.

  1. Disrespecting the Haka is a new low for SA and its fans.
It is and has always been part of All Black mana.
It is so revered that in some countries there is total silence during the Haka. But one has to have emotional intelligence to get that.
This behaviour was especially galling because it was preceded by three near naked men with spears screaming and favoring around the field.
None of the visitors laughed and made fun of the ridiculous spectacle.

    1. Agree on your comments about having respect for the haka, but you are not exactly setting an example in terms of your own closing comments.
The Worrior Dance with the Impi song in the background has been a tradition for many years in all Springbok home games and also forms part of some ethnical groups’ culture. Why call it a rediculous spectacle?

    2. Except for you making fun of it right now??? Oh so u can challenge us in our own country and we must just stand there listen and submit? How entitled are you? Saffas sang Ole Ole Ole… played a song yet still didn’t cut microphones to your haka… still allowed u to lay down ur challenge that is actually disrespectful in it’s own way at times telling people u will eat them…. our country our traditions yet still allow yours don’t mock them laugh at them or call them ridiculous just combat the challenge and intimidation attempt… u want disrespect that would be cutting Microphones to the hakka and the springboks standing back of the line or by the bench not even facing or acknowledging them… instead actually respecting it in terms of responding… sorry u can’t handle it but honestly how in another country must they not do what thier traditions are so u can do ure when u would never do the same? Seems always just expect more then everyone…

      1. Reading through as a strong Maori women we in aotearoa are proud of our culture and know where and who we are! the retaliation is algood we haka battle all the time here in Aotearoa. The all blacks did a haka and yous played your music and let off fire works, cool. think socail media digs for a story though we are rivals there is allot more love between these two teams then all of us give credit too and as fans we just need to enjoy the game.

    3. Should be Lynn Mortified. That last paragraph of yours ….. I think the AB’s can do without your “support”. Oh, come to think about , please do carry on.

  2. The Haka is not a national anthem but a vocal challenge to war. How you respond to that challenge is up to you and these responses can include shouting, staring and physical movement towards the challengers?

  3. I just think there was a glitch with the timing of the flypast and the fireworks (maybe because the ABs had a little team huddle before the haka). One cannot control what the crowds do on the day. SA rugby fans are very passionate and sometimes get carried away with their own exuberance.

  4. I agree the NZ Haka is part of there tradition SA always respeck NZ when they do the Haka dont know what whent wrong.
Also when NZ kick to the poles the BOOOOing was not on. We apologize NZ …but what a game..

    1. As a South African I also apologise to the AB. The idiot DJ should be fired! We have ALWAYS respected the Haka!

  5. I thought that the reason for the Haka was when naval military explorers 100’s of years ago arrived off the shores of NZ the locals were challenging them to a) step ashore and be battered or b) Piss off! That’s a challenge.
When the AB’s are playing away from home what are they defending or challenging away from home?
If any other international team (except Pacific Island teams) started their match with a cabaret show they would be criticised ! Is there a need for this in the 21st Century?

  6. agree that DJ was not on the dot with playing deafening music…Haka..no problem…Impi’s at our home games…why not…this is Africa!

  7. The All Blacks notably donned armbands and prayed before performing the Haka against the Springboks at Ellis Park on Saturday.

The disrespect was the circle they made where they paid tribute to a king who passed after battle with cancer.

How do you respond? The way the Boks responded. With some respect! Do you see the players who are actually facing the Haka acting out? NO.

  8. Ban the haka – it’s a ridiculous spectacle. The only country in the world that expects their opponents to subject themselves to such a stupid “dance”. It’s like grown men plays children’s game.

    1. Why are New Zealand so privileged to have the haka? Don’t get me wrong, I love the haka…
But it’s actually an unfair advantage over other teams. Why is South Africa then not allowed to do a Zulu war chant for example?

  9. Let us be clear about one thing- the haka is a direct challenge to the opposing team,NOT at the fans and supporters!

  10. Why can only the ABs do something special. We are tired of it. I looked at the AB’ faces as they heard the crowd roaring and they were saying ” this isn’t working today” yahooooooo South Africans
