Reports from the Times emerged yesterday that Lionel Messi had come close to agreeing a deal to move to Inter Miami in the MLS to become the league’s highest paid player, as the Argentine great looks set to depart Paris St. Germain at the end of the season.
Speaking on Talksport this morning, Simon Jordan believes that with this rumoured move likely to take place, this will be the end of elite football in Messi’s career.

“Despite having all the gifts that he has always had, you’re looking at a 35-year old beginning to decline.
“If he does move to the dizzying heights of being managed by Phil Neville, you have to consider that that could be the end of Messi at the top level.”
Messi will hope to help Argentina over the line and into the knockout stages of the World Cup, when his side face Poland on Wednesday night.
