Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are allies at club level – but it’s safe to say that they’re enemies tonight.
With Egypt and Senegal going head-to-head in the AFCON final, predictably, it has been billed as a battle of the Liverpool attacking superstars.
Mane had a golden opportunity to strike first blood after Senegal were awarded a penalty in the opening stages of the game.
However, Salah, clearly valuing his will for Egypt to triumph over their friendship, had a word in the goalkeeper’s ear, presumably advice about Mane’s penalty-taking.

Whatever he said, it worked a treat, with Mane’s penalty being saved and the scores remaining level.
Mane may well have something to say about this when the pair return to Merseyside…
