Cristiano Ronaldo’s private jet has reportedly been on the move amid reports that he wants to leave Manchester United.
Ronaldo is understood to have informed Manchester United of his desire to join a club playing in the Champions League. Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been mentioned as potential destinations.
He is yet to report for Man United pre-season training, which has only intensified rumours that he is looking to force a transfer away from the club that gave him a platform as a youngster in the game.
To add to the speculation, Ronaldo’s private jet is understood to have flown to the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid were ultimately unable to recruit either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland this summer. There is every chance they will look to bring in a striker before the end of the summer window.
Whether that will be Ronaldo is another matter, with Karim Benzema very much the leading performer at the Santiago Bernabeu and arguably playing at a level higher than CR7 himself.
The longer this saga drags on, however, the more chance there is that Jorge Mendes will be able to convince Florentino Perez that Ronaldo still has a year or two in him at the very highest level.
