Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to sell Raphael Varane to Manchester United

Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane is expected to reject a new contract offer by the La Liga giants which is reportedly paving a way for the France international to join Manchester United.

The Manchester Evening News is reporting that, Varane is set to reject Madrid’s latest offer of a new contract and if he does they are ready to sell him to Man United as it is well known that they are searching for a new centre-back.

It is understood that Madrid would rather obtain a fee in the summer for Varane than let him leave on a free next season and would be willing to hear Manchester United out.

The 27-year-old is apparently unhappy as he believes there is still too great a difference between his salary offer and what the big earners at Madrid are making.

United are desperate to sign a centre half to partner Harry Maguire in the summer transfer window and have a preference for experience. Varane turns 28 in April and has a solid ten year career with the Spanish giants.

Varane is also a tested winner having won four Champions League titles with Real Madrid and the World Cup with France in 2018.
