Premier League legend Petr Cech is coming out of retirement to play for Chelsea’s development squad against Tottenham in the Premier League 2.
Cech is set to make a sensational return to football following his retirement from he game in 2019 with his last game coming in the Europa League final in May of 2019.
The four time Premier League winner is set to play for Chelsea’s development squad against Tottenham in a Premier League 2 fixture on Monday.
Following his retirement Cech became the technical and performance director at Chelsea and has been kept himself fit by training with Frank Lampard’s squad after he was registered as emergency cover in their Premier League squad list in October 2020.
Despite being available for emergency cover it’s been revealed by a club insider that the Czech shot-stopper has never been selected for training games ahead of established first-team goalkeepers Edouard Mendy, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero.
