The England captain Owen Farrell has been cleared to play this weekend against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. People can’t believe it, after his dangerous shoulder charge that resulted in one of the Welsh players going off with a HIA. Owen Farrell was given a yellow and then it was bumped up to a red card.

World Rugby have now set a precedent that anything like this is not worthy of a red card come the World Cup.
You can guarantee a less dangerous offence will result in a red card for a Tier 2 side. Expect uproar when that occurs. https://t.co/b5xpLl3YiF

Penny for Grant Gilchrist’s thoughts. The “sudden and significant change in direction from the ball carrier” didn’t save him from a three-match ban in the Six Nations.

This decision by the committee is puzzling and one that will cause debate upon debate in the coming weeks and particularly over the Rugby World Cup.
We can’t wait for the tournament to get going in France. Who do you fancy to win it? The All Blacks are looking good..
