Instead, Tyson Fury, will now face Francis Ngannou in a crossover fight in Saudi Arabia later this year.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian, defends his unified WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight belts against Britainβs Daniel Dubois, his mandatory challenger.
Speaking ahead of the clash Usyk was a lot kinder about Fury than you would expect.
Speaking to the newly revamped TNT Sports he said on Fury,
βAs a human being I think heβs a great person.
βI think heβs a great man, a great father, a great family man. And as an athlete heβs brilliant as well.
βThe only thing I can say is too much words instead of actions.
βThe whole world wants to see the fight and we have to make it.
βPeople are tired of talk. We need to do, instead of talk.β
Usyk also believes there is no comparison between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois.
He said,
βYou cannot compare those two guys, these are completely different levels of athletes.β
βThe only thing that is in common is that they both are boxers.β
