🚨 Nick Ball shows why he is world class by knocking his opponent out of the ring en route to successful title defence

Nick Ball retained his WBA featherweight title in style by stopping Ronny Rios in Liverpool.

It was a relentless performance from the Liverpudlian. With his non-stop aggression from the start he was able to dominate a brave Ronny Rios.

The 27-year-old sent his American challenger to the canvas twice before the stunning finish came in the tenth round when a barrage of punches put Rios though the ropes.

Somehow he managed to get up, but his corner mercifully and correctly stopped the fight.

Post fight Ball spoke to BBC Radio 5 on his performance:

“Probably hasn’t sunk in yet, when I get back to the changing room, let it sink in it’s going to be special to look back on.

“I’ve boxed all over the world that was different, no place like home.”

On the stunning finish: “That’s what we train for stuff like that, take them out. Hats off to him, he caught me with a few on my nose.”

Ball now boasts an undefeated record of twenty one wins and one draw scoring twelve KO’s.
