Newcastle United assistant manager Jason Tindall has become a bit of an internet sensation of late, and after the Magpies qualified for the Champions League, he spoke on his new-found “celebrity” status.
Tindall was a somewhat unknown figure (despite being Eddie Howe’s long-time assistant) until recent weeks when a hilarious Twitter page titled “Jason Tindall desperate to be centre of attention” began to garner a following and attention.
Things quickly snowballed with Howe talking about his No. 2 and Callum Wilson revealing the players had put him front and centre of a team photo to poke fun at the whole situation.
Tindall himself has said “there’s a lot of haters in football that like to hate, there’s a lot of jealousy. I take it with a pinch of salt, I’ve got thick skin. I laugh at a lot of what gets said and what gets sent to me.”
He also claimed a large part of it was due to Newcastle’s climb up the table and top-four finish, while completely ignoring that the primary reason people are not all-praising of the club’s rise is due to their Saudi ownership.

Tindall will now be dining at European football’s top table next season, which should only lead to increased attention on him and even funnier social media gags.
