Chelsea forgotten man Michy Batshuayi has been given a squad number, as the Blues struggle in the transfer market.
Thomas Tuchel’s side were expected to be one of the busiest buyers in the summer market, especially with new owners through the door.
However, Tuchel’s men have been rejected at almost every turn, and with the season set to begin, still have plenty of work to do.
In the event that Chelsea are not able to get Tuchel’s targets through the door, the German manager needs to have contingency plans.
It appears as though he has been forced into taking drastic measures in order to have them, dusting off the dross and drafting them into the first team.
In this case, the dross we’re referring to is Michy Batshuayi, who is a forgotten man at Chelsea and was deemed to have no future.
With Chelsea struggling to attract attacking reinforcements, just as they are in other areas, it now appears as though Batshuayi could stay.
