Salah has scored 105 goals in 169 appearances for Liverpool and looks set to win the award with Egyptian Premier League club Al Ahly leading the way in the ‘Club of the Century’ vote.
The fact that both front runners in ‘Player of the Century’ and ‘Club of the Century’ are Egyptian has led people to believe that the Egyptian public have voted in their droves and the results may not be an accurate reflection of world football’s opinion.
Cristiano Ronaldo is however the frontrunner for the ‘Player of the Year’ award with 48% of votes with Bayern Munich’s prolific goalscorer Robert Lewandowski in second place with 31% of the votes and Lionel Messi in third with 21%.
