First Bantamweight Conlan beat Danish southpaw Frederik Jensen on a unanimous decision (30-27,30-27,30-27).

In addition to guaranteeing at least a bronze medal, the win earns Conlan an outright place at October’s AIBA World Elite Championships and Olympic qualifiers in Doha, Qatar.
Ireland could have two more medals before the end of the day with both Adam Nolan and Joe Ward in quarter-final action later this evening.
