The former Aston Villa and Irish manager Martin O’Neill was on Premier Sports on Saturday evening to look back at the Scotland vs Ireland game and couldn’t but help get in a little dig at the Dubliner Matt Doherty.

He said MON and Keane never really had a game plan when they were with Ireland, they would just turn up to training and it would be 5 a sides and practice the odd free kick or something along those lines

The Spurs defender Matt Doherty was critical of the Ireland set up under Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane in the past and the Derry native has been waiting in the long grass ever since and didn’t miss his opportunity on Saturday evening when Ireland lost two goals to one against Scotland in the Nations League.
Bit immature out of Martin O’Neill no? Surely get could let this go, the Derry man had a great relationship with RTE’s Tony O’Donoghue also! Many the Irish fan won’t forget that, although Keane and O’Neill did have good success with the Irish set up also.
