The former Manchester United, Everton and England striker Wayne Rooney was talking to the media this week and made comments that left United fans raging. When asked what he thought of the Manchester United owners the Glazers, Wayne Rooney said;

“Firstly I think the Glazers have done a fantastic job,” the former England captain told reporters. “They signed me in 2004 so they’ve been at the club for 20 years now and I think they’ve always allowed the managers to bring in the players that they want.”

There’s a backlash online since Rooney said this as you can imagine. The United fans went on strike a good few times over their current owners and their lack of investment in the club..
