Manchester United are edging closer to sealing a deal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.
Casemiro has established himself as one of the finest holding midfielders on the planet during his time as a Real Madrid player. He’s the dictionary definition of world-class.
Few could have predicted that any club would have a chance of tempting him away from Real Madrid this summer, let alone 20th-place Manchester United.
However, by hook or by crook, United now look to be edging closer to signing and sealing a deal to sign the Brazil international from Real Madrid…

Man United have been crying out for a midfielder like Casemiro for several years. It now looks as though they’re going to get one of the best through the door.
Whether that will be enough to drag them back into contention for European football is another matter entirely. They are an absolute shambles at the moment.
It’s a statement of intent from the club, though, and a reminder that, even from the bottom of the league, they still have the pull of a super club…
