Sunderland’s Luke O’Nien got a piggyback from Alex Scott to stop a Bristol City counterattack last Saturday.
Sunderland took the lead in the Championship clash just before the hour mark through Jack Clarke, with Nakhi Wells equalising with a penalty in the 93rd minute, but O’Nien’s antics earlier in the game had fans in stitches.
With eight minutes to go in the match, City found themselves charging forward on the counterattack through Alex Scott, with O’Nien tasked with chasing the 19-year old, but instead of stopping him the traditional way via a shirt pull or a trip, the midfielder hitched a ride with Scott, jumping on his back.

Scott didn’t seem to see the funny side of the foul, and who can blame him after thinking he was in on the counter, not even cracking a smile as O’Nien received his card from the referee.
