Norwich and Chelsea midfielder Billy Gimour allegedly received homophobic abuse from Liverpool fans during both sides opening match of the Premier League where Liverpool won three goals to nil at Carrow Road. There has been a big stand made of no to racism over the last few years, but there should be more done for other terms that these individuals like to use to try and offend players.
It’s the year 2021 and we’re still getting this type of crap in the game, awful to hear, Liverpool should be banning these fans for life!

Billy Gilmour not being gay doesn’t excuse the homophobic shit some Liverpool fans were chanting at him ffs

For those confused; Billy Gilmour doesn't have to be gay to receive homophobic abuse, but the toxicity will affect those who are.
There are 557 players in the league (Sky)
2.5% of men in the UK are gay (ONS)
0 players in the premier league are openly gay
Do better, condemn it

Excuses to continue this chant 😔
‘It’s been sung for years’ ❌
‘Billy Gilmour isn’t gay’ ❌
‘Rent boy isn’t homophobic’ ❌Reasons to find a new chant 😁
Lgbt+ fans, staff and players would feel safer to be out and proud in football ✅No other reason required. #kickitout https://t.co/IuxTWN4XMK
