🚨 Lennox Lewis explains why he wants to box Jake Paul after Mike Tyson fight

Posted by

Lennox Lewis is eyeing up a shock return to the ring.

The heavyweight legend last fought in 2003 when he took on Vitali Klitschko and stopped him on cuts in a classic encounter.

There has been many times that the former undisputed heavyweight champion has flirted with the idea of coming out of retirement but only if the price is right.

It seems that his old rival’s bout with Jake Paul has wetted his appetite once again.

Despite the controversial 31-year age gap between the pair, Lewis is backing Tyson to get the job done over Paul, whom he claims is ‘not a true fighter’.

Asked if he would face the winner, Lewis told Fox 29 Philadelphia:

“That’s a good question. I hope that Tyson saves a little bit of Jake Paul for me.”

“Mike Tyson’s gonna win. Mike Tyson’s not that old. Don’t take him too softly. We’re one year apart.”

“You can fight somebody like that and do well because the person you’re fighting is not a true fighter and there’s a hundred things that you’ve forgotten that he’s learning.

“[The age] will be a little bit of a determining factor if the fight goes on too long, but if they get close and Mike Tyson comes with his ten-second combination, if one of those punches catches him he’s definitely gonna go down.”

While it remains unlikely that we will ever see Lewis in a professional ring again as he has said in the past, money talks.
