Roberto Firmino received some serious praise from Jurgen Klopp as he gets set to pull the curtain down on his Liverpool career.
At the club’s annual end-of-season dinner, a goodbye tribute took place for the likes of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita but in reality, it was all about Firmino.
The Brazilian forward has been one of the key men in all of the club’s recent success, with his false 9 play and all-around intelligence being critical to the team’s style of play and subsequent glory.
Klopp echoed what many Reds fans probably thought to be true in his farewell speech to his player, saying that his “football brain was incredible” on top of his brilliant technical ability.
He used Firmino’s tendency to be the first to understand training exercises as an example of how “football smart” he was.
Check out the speech below.

Firmino signed off his Anfield career with a late equaliser in his side’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday and was then serenaded with the ever-familiar “Si Senor” chant after the game.
