Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter has revealed that we ought to have a date for his rematch with Anthony Joshua within a fortnight.
As soon as Anthony Joshua was emphatically beaten by Oleksandr Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in September, boxing fans grew excited over the prospect of a rematch.
Joshua, comfortably beaten and without any of his heavyweight world titles, would surely come out with a point to prove and look to finish Usyk early, avoiding the possibility of being outboxed again.
Sadly, we were never able to find out, with Russia invading Ukraine and Usyk making the commendable decision to remain in his home country and fight for the freedom of his people.
In recent weeks, it has been confirmed that Usyk will be leaving Ukraine in order to start camp and fight Joshua. Although, we are still none the wiser as to when the fight will be taking place.
It shouldn’t be too long until we find those details out, however, with Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk revealing an estimated two-week timeframe to finalise the date and venue.

It seems likely, considering the delay, that they will not be fighting until June at the absolute earliest, especially considering we don’t know exactly what shape Usyk is in at current.
We’d expect to see the fight either take place in London once again or there has been continual suggestions that Saudi Arabia could play host to the bout, which would presumably make both fights the maximum amount of cash.
