James Rodriguez has been credited with playing an important role in saving the life of Mali international Ousmane Coulibaly.
Coulibaly collapsed to the floor during a league game in Qatar. His condition immediately looked serious, with the TV cameras closely, and rather inappropriately, trained on his spasming body.
The Malian defender was immediately tended to by the medics in the stadium, with the game being abandoned after he received treatment on the pitch and was later taken to hospital.
Coulibaly is now understood to be in a stable condition in hospital, with his wife confirming via social media that he suffered a heart attack during the game.

While, of course, the doctors who tended to Coulibaly deserve the largest portion of the credit, James Rodriguez has also been commended for the role he played in saving his life.
As is reported by beIN Sports, James, who now plays his football with Qatar Stars League club Al-Rayyan, adjusted Coulibaly’s head in a way that would assist his breathing.
It’s reported that doctors have credited the former Real Madrid midfielder for the role that he played in ensuring Coulibaly left the field of play alive. What a bloke!
