Ireland back row player Jack Conan has been ruled out of the summer series against the Springboks due to the impending birth of his child. 

Ireland already are missing some big and key players for the two tests that will take place in the South African capital of Pretoria and Durban.

It’s going to be a huge challenge for this Irish team as the Springboks will be out for blood after losing to Ireland in the Rugby World Cup last October in France.

It’s going to make for two cracking test matches and ones we can’t wait to get going.

  1. It’s going to be an interesting series.Ireland will be missing some top players . South Africa could be in much the same position.Taking over a lot of new caps to play Wales now as out of the window frame to use overseas players . Could be an opportunity to introduce a few new players due to either sides issues.Should be a good entertaining series

  2. Looks like a lot of them don’t want to go to South Africa to miss out playing in the Six Nations Triple Crown/ Grand Slam tournament. It is a historic and important event in Irish rugby. The Spring boks are just another team that takes part in the Rugby World Cup and they have a chip on their shoulder because of their last game played in the last RWC. I’m not surprised that players are deciding they dont want to go.
