As the news broke over the weekend of the tragic incident that took place up in Clonmel where four people lost their lives while heading to a party to celebrate their leaving cert results. News also came out that there was drone footage taken of the tragic incident.
Now people online are claiming that it was The Independent newspaper that were the ones using the drone to get images of the tragedy. That is just completely wrong on so many levels, not right from a national newspaper.

It’s time for a national boycott of @Independent_ie both online and instores. To use drone footage from that terrible scene in Clonmel last night is a low never reached by any Irish media outlet. It’s as disgusting as the suns coverage after Hillsborough. #Clonmel #dontbuytheindo

@Independent_ie Disgusting & shameful act yesterday evening sharing the photo of the crash site at Clonmel. The family & friends of the victims have suffered enough. The emergency services personnel involved will lose endless amounts of sleep as it is without seeing this image.

Irish Independent using drone footage from crash in Clonmel seems a new low.
What was the journalistic merit in using drone footage of emergency services trying to retrieve bodies at a crash site?!
They since took the photos down but should never have put them up to begin with.

What you need to do is arrest the @Independent_ie as they published the sick drone footage on their website of the Clonmel crash. You know do something productive. Oh ya while you're at it jail and fine the drone operator as it's illegal to fly one without a permit in a built up… https://t.co/oICCofyQKC

We send our thoughts and prayer to the close family and friends of the victims and maybe their souls rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha
