Fear not, though, Man United fans, for former England midfielder Tom Huddlestone could be set to arrive to plug the holes in your leaky pivot.
Unfortunately, Huddlestone is NOT to be considered a first-team option, he is in talks over taking a player-coach role with the under-21s.
You may recall that Liverpool academy product Jay Spearing returned to take a similar role at Anfield earlier in the summer window.
It may seem bizarre for elder players to be joining up with their younger counterparts, but their wealth of experience could be invaluable.
Besides, were Man United to have a fully-blown midfield injury crisis, Huddlestone would be a natural fit into ten Hag’s starting XI…
