Ireland play Wales in the Millennium Stadium on Saturday afternoon in their first game of the Summer Series – the all-important warm-up matches ahead of the Rugby World Cup.
Irish Rugby fans are anxious to see how Schmidt sets his team up and cast an eye over some of our injury concerns.
The bad news folks – it’s not live on RTÉ, Sky, or TV3.
RTÉ 2 will have highlights on Saturday evening at 8pm, and Sky Sports 3 at 9.30pm, but the only channel airing it live is BBC Wales, which isn’t preprogrammed on standard Irish Sky boxes
The IRFU understand the consternation the news is causing amongst supporters, and helpfully retweeted this advice from Oonagh Kerr.
Go to ‘Options’ in your Sky menu and then press the ‘Add Channels’ tab. This is a feature that allows you to search for unusual channels using their frequency and add them to your standard channels.
Use the keypad to on your Sky remote control to input the frequency and other values Oonagh suggested – and then run a search for channels.
BBC Wales should be one of the options you are offered. Simply follow the instructions on screen to store the channel and hey presto – you’re all set to cheer on Joe and the team against Wales at the weekend.
Phew, crisis averted.
Oonagh was rightly showered with praise for providing invaluable assistance to Irish fans.
If this isn’t an option for you then tune into RTÉ Radio for live commentary from the Millennium Stadium.
