The Kazakhstani boxer may not be done with boxing just yet.
Gennady Golovkin last fought just shy of two years ago against Mexican rival Saul Canelo Alvarez where he suffered defeat by decision in their trilogy fight.
Many believed that his time was up in the sport due to his inactivity, but HE Turki Alalshikh may have plans for the boxing legend.
Rumours have circulated that since the Canelo and Terence Crawford fight couldn’t be made that ‘Triple G’ may take on the American instead.
At 42 it would be a big task for the hard-hitting Golovkin but at the end of the day money talks and a bout with Crawford would certainly catch the attention of the boxing community.
