The UFC’s match makers are reportedly on the verge of confirming a February bantamweight showdown between Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar and Cory ‘Sandman’ Sandhagen.
Edgar, 39 and Sandhagen, 28, are reportedly set to meet during the UFC’s scheduled Fight Night 187 on February 6, 2021.
Both fighters currently boast recent wins after Edgar (24-8) beat Pedro Munhoz via split decision in August and Sandhagen (13-2) impressively knocked out former title challenger ‘Magic’ Marlon Moraes in October.
The news that both 135lb contenders are set to collide early next year was reported by ESPN’s leading MMA journalist, Aerial Helwani.
Cory Sandhagen vs. Frankie Edgar is being finalized for Feb. 6, per multiple sources. Verbally agreed.

Helwani claims that both fights have verbally agreed to the match-up with the finer details still be confirmed.
Edgar and Sandhagen will be desperate to claim a victory over one another as both fighters currently sit inside the division’s top 5 rankings (Edgar #5 and Sandhagen #2).
A win for either fight will surely guarantee a title showdown with champion and striking genius Petr Yan.
