Francis Ngannou is eyeing up boxing again.

The former UFC heavyweight champion, is set to clash with 2023 PFL heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira (13-3) in his next outing as he returns to MMA.

The 37-year-old has boxed twice against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua putting in somewhat mixed performances.

In his bout with ‘The Gypsy King’ he very nearly shocked the world dropping him and only losing via a split-decision verdict from ringside.

Against Joshua though is was a completely different story, with the former unified heavyweight champion knocking him out in just two rounds.

But, that hasn’t put him off making a return to the ring and one name he could take on is another former champion in Deontay Wilder.

Speaking to talkSPORT on a potential clash with the American he said:

“Absolutely. I would love that fight.

“Pure boxing, don’t be delusional here. That’s where we both stand a chance, but if we go MMA only one man stands a chance.

“It’s a fight that I want, I always wanted that fight. At some point we had a discussion that didn’t go too far, but we wanted to make this fight happen.”

“I have the Fury rematch then Deontay Wilder on the wish list.

But, he played down an all African contest with the inform Martin Bakole.

He continued: “[Martin Bakole?] Not really. That is the fight I would choose as the last option because I see him more like a brother. I’d fight anyone else beside him, plus he’s dangerous!
