Former Watford striker, Troy Deeney believes that Antonio Conte could be shown the exit door if his side loses the North London derby on Sunday.
When the Tottenham boss arrived in North London, there was a growing consensus that he was overqualified for the position but now over a year later, that thought has changed.
Spurs are 11 points behind their bitter rival Arsenal and have looked far from an elite side this season. They have been extremely inconsistent and have looked awful, especially in the first half.
Former Premier League striker, Deeney believes that Conte ‘must-win’ on Sunday.
“They have fallen so far behind Arsenal. They have flattered to deceive and not only do they need a performance, this is a must-win.” he told The Sun.
“There is so much frustration and disappointment that if they lose badly, where next? I don’t see them recovering for the rest of the season.”
The Italian manager has always been very passionate, something which Deenet believes could go work against the club if they fail to win.
“Somebody like Conte is emotional in his behaviour. A defeat this weekend puts him on the edge of doing something that Tottenham do not want to see happen.”
If he was to leave, who do you think should replace him?
