The Dutch manager has spoken about the English winger’s recent loan move away from the club for the first time.

After months out of the senior squad at Manchester United, Jadon Sancho has officially re-joined his former club, Borussia Dortmund, on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old got off to a great start back in Germany, assisting teammate Marco Reus during his side’s 3-0 win.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Erik ten Hag admitted that there were issues between him and Sancho but wished the English winger the best of luck.

“He’s now at Dortmund. After he was signed, one year before [Ten Hag arrived] there were issues.

“We had had issues all the way through.

“So you can make out that his stay at Manchester United so far has not been a success. So now he’s gone back to Borussia Dortmund.

“I wish him the best of luck. We all hope he will do very well there and he will be successful.”
