After the historic result for Fiji at the weekend, one of England’s main players Ellis Genge has taken to his twitter to congratulate the islanders on their history win and thanks the England faithful for ‘supporting’ his team.
A lot of people aren’t happy with the way Ellis Genge use quotations for ‘support’.
Genge has defended it though and said he wasn’t being one big cheeky.

Ellis – your *supporting* remark was uncalled for. Don't mistake dismay, anger or criticism (often indiscriminate and misguided) for a withdrawal of support. These are expressions of supporters' pain and passion.
When the support turns to silence – that's the time to worry.

Simon the * * aren’t me using quotation marks as if I’m being disingenuous when I say it. They’re to highlight the importance of the support, been misinterpreted it would seem.

The "supporters" have lasted tens of generations
Compared to your epic 3 minutes in 2019
I wouldn't accuse them of anything from where you stand
